Quotations are hereby invited for the following: Refurb Safety Cage 5791 (Once Off). Scope: The purpose of this scope of work is to restore the safety cage to its original condition by performing effective repairs and maintenance. The following works shall be executed in the refurbishment process but not limited to: - Collect and deliver the safety cage from Durban Container Terminal - Pier 2 store; - Replace all twelve floor I-beams; - Replace floor thread plates with galvanized plates (size 12m X 4); - Replace all sixteen roof crossbars; - Replace all kick plates. Each kick plate shall a minimum height of 150 mm; - Replace roof plating with 3mm galvanized flat sheet (size: 12m X 4m). Roof plating shall be bolted on; - Replace all six side gates and supports. Each gate shall be spring loaded with self-locking mechanism. Gates and supports shall be galvanized; - Replace all seats as per sample; - De-rust entire structure. Apply anti-corrosive paint and thereafter paint structure white in colour; - Faces shall be painted with chevron colours i.e yellow and black; - All welding shall be performed by codified welders. Every weld must be full and continuous; - Perform NDT tests and dye penetration on all lifting points and provide certificates; - Load test safety cage and provide certificates; - Load test the trigger latch hook components as follows and provide certificates: Inspect each wire rope sling (x4) and provide inspection report for each as per serial number.
