The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education invites suitable and capable service providers to bid for the establishment of a panel of service providers for the training of reading champions in various Circuit Management Centres for the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education for a period of thirty-six (36) months with an option to extend for twenty-four (24) months. There is approximately 7006 Reading Champions across the province i.e. in all the 12 districts. Specifications • Reading Champions must be trained on how to set up and manage reading clubs at school level; • Reading Champions must be trained on how to monitor the issuing and return of books; • Reading Champions must be trained on how to involve learners in reading and literacy activities; • Reading Champions must be trained how to organise reading festivals; • Reading Champions must be trained on how to organise story-telling and story-sharing activities for children; • Participants will have to be issued with certificates of competence at the conclusion of training. The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education invites suitable and capable service providers to bid for the establishment of a panel of service providers for the training of Child and Youth Care Workers / Care and Support Agents in various Circuit Management Centres for the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education for a period of thirty-six (36) months with an option to extend for twenty-four (24) months. Scope • There are approximately 3836 CSAs to be trained across all 12 districts. Specifications: • Participants will have to be issued with certificates of competence at the conclusion of training. Training provider requirements: • The preferred service provider must be able to train CSAs specifically for school context; • The CSAs must be trained on how to provide psycho-social support to vulnerable learners including minimising the impact of violence on children and youth (child protection matters and gender-based violence), substance abuse, and preventing and responding to other social ills.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education invites suitable and capable service providers to bid for the establishment of a panel of service providers for the training of E-Cadres / ICT Champions in various Circuit Management Centres for the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education for a period of thirty-six (36) months with an option to extend for twenty-four (24) months. Scope: • There are approximately 4255 e-Cadres across the province i.e. in all the 12 districts; • Participants will have to be issued with certificates of competence at the end of training. Project Objective: The objectives of the e-Cadre programme is to support schools with the following ICT related activities: • Basic ICT equipment troubleshooting; • Use of ICT in lesson planning; • Capture information on the SA-SAMS/CEMIS/NDMS; • Integration of ICT in Teaching and Learning; and • Loading Open Educational Resources and CAPS aligned content on teacher and learner devices to be used in the classroom. The e-cadres will: • Assist teachers on how to integration ICTs in the classroom; • Provide ICT Technical support to teachers and learners; • Upload educational applications and content on teachers and learners’ devices; • Create interactive activities for learners; • Update Operating System software and applications; and • Be responsible for charging and safe keeping of schools ICT equipment. Project Impact: • The ICT equipment provided to schools will be fully utilized; • Teachers and learners will be provided with ICT technical support; • Schools implementing coding and robotics will have human resources who will assist learners during and after school. Resources Required: • Connectivity; • Laptops/tablets; and • Data Projectors.

Scope of work includes among other the following: • Address prior year audit matters as raised by the Auditor General; • Confirm and assist in ensuring that completed projects closing balance agrees to the supporting documents on projects files; • Check and verify final accounts prepared by implementing agents or their appointed service providers; • Prepare and manage agreement of final accounts; • Monitor, review, and issue final payment certificates; • Manage preparation of as-built drawings and documentation where requested; • Prepare and present the close-out report; • Administer the transfer of completed projects to the KZN Department of Public Works; • Confirm and assist in ensuring that the commitment balances for infrastructure agree to supporting documents on project files; • Confirm and assist in the correct disclosure of commitments for the management fees for implementing agents; • Confirm and assist that the retention monies are accounted for correctly; • Review the guarantee amounts and agree to the contract sum of the project; • Review all infrastructure accruals to ensure the correct accounting treatment and disclosures; • Provide technical support on infrastructure accounting and reporting matters that head office or district offices may be dealing with; • Respond and resolve audit requests and audit queries relating to infrastructure.
