Expression of Interest are hereby invited for the supply of Lightning Detection Sensors and Server Platform to the South African Weather Service for a one-year inter-comparison project. Scope: - Service providers may indicate their respective coverage area, should they have an existing network within South Africa. Alternatively, SAWS could be engaged to provide installation space at existing SAWS locations for a period of 24 months for the purpose of measuring and comparing data recorded collected from the lightning sensors in accordance with the requirements of the standards for meteorological sensors and data collection; - The suppliers are requested to provide their equipment at personal cost, whilst SAWS will provide the land space for inter-comparison. A representative network with its respective computer interface and a complete spares bin will be required; - It will be the responsibility of the service provider to maintain the lightning sensors and server and to provide to SAWS monthly with a full report on all maintenance conducted on the lightning sensors and server; - During the 12 months period (August 2025 to July 2026) SAWS will monitor, verify and analyse the data of each lightning sensor and stored on the respective server, take into consideration system downtime, maintenance / repairs conducted, functionality and any other measures which are deemed important for the operation and maintenance of the lightning sensors and the respective server.; - After the 12 months period (August 2025 to July 2026) service providers will be required to decommission and remove their equipment from the premises of the SAWS Weather Office or related infrastructure sites (July 2026 to September 2026). 源: ONLINE TENDERS
